What are security screens made of?
Our security screens are made from high-quality, durable materials such as 316 marine grade stainless steel genuine Meshtec mesh, Genuine Meshtec perforated aluminium mesh or aluminium and fully machine welded, heavy duty aluminium frames. These materials are specifically designed to withstand break-in attempts, harsh weather conditions, and everyday wear and tear, providing superior protection for your home.

It is important to consider the materials used to manufacture your security screens prior to purchase. Cheaper or lower quality options can lead to future issues such as corrosion.
How do security screens work?
Security screens act as a physical barrier against intruders, preventing access to your home through doors and windows. The strong mesh is resistant to cutting and forced entry, while the robust frame and locking systems further enhance the security of your property. These screens also allow airflow and visibility, making them a practical solution for Australian homes.
What’s the difference between a security screen and a flyscreen?
Unlike regular flyscreens, which are designed to keep insects out, security screens are built with strong, high-tensile mesh and durable frames to provide protection against burglars. They are far more resistant to damage, making them an essential security feature for any home. They are designed to prevent entry from bugs and people.
Are security screens effective against burglars?
Yes, high-quality security screens are very effective at preventing break-ins. The robust construction, including 316 marine grade stainless steel mesh, perforated aluminium mesh or aluminium grille and secure 3 point high quality Lockwood locking mechanisms, makes it extremely difficult for intruders to force their way in. They serve as a strong deterrent to would-be burglars, making your home a less attractive target. Keeping in mind that the installation of this security plays a major roll in its effectiveness.
Do security screens come with a warranty?
Yes, all our security screens should come with a warranty, ensuring peace of mind for customers. Our screens are built to last, but should you experience any issues, Prowler Proof offer a 10 year full replacement warranty provides protection for your investment. Most companies only offer a repair warranty, leaving you without your investment for potentially months whilst the powder coat is stripped and reapplied.

Be aware also of fine print. We love that whilst we expect you to maintain your large investment, Prowler Proof do not have a cleaning schedule to maintain during your warranty. Other companies do, catching you out if you need to claim.
How much do security screens cost?
The cost of security screens varies depending on factors such as the size, material, and installation. We will not be your cheapest option and we are ok with this knowing that you will receive not only a high quality product with high quality accessories but also installation to the Austrlaian Standars. We wont rush or cut corners. Installations should not be completed using rivets, we use high quality tamper resistant security screws.
